‘Stories From the City’ delves into our profound connections to the table. Her etchings and relief prints are inspired by travels across Europe and bring the rituals of eating found in the everyday – its sourcing, presentation, moments people share together, and the communal pleasure it fosters. Webb’s work captures a moment in time, filled with the vitality and movement of people passing through. Scenes from markets, busy restaurants, or quiet domestic spaces. Influenced by Roman wall painting, the compositions of Balthus and the Cubism movement, Webb’s practice embodies a timeless quality. Through Webb’s work, we are reminded that these transient moments hold significance that subtly underscores the impermanence of life.
